Before
When I chose my home in Bulgaria, I chose it because it had its own Bulgarian character and great views overlooking the village, it was warm, cosy and inviting..
It is a very old home and made from Granite stone and mud brick, which goes back at least a hundred years, at some point red-brick was added to the side of the house. The barn below the home is possibly 200 years old and was once a small bar where many locals passed their time.
It has solid oak beams and is granite stone with very old steps up into the home, I was quite excited about the barn, has there is much potential for this area.
The home needed some repairs and updating, rewiring, plumbing and required half of the roof tiles changing and all making the same and also replacing part of the roof at the back that had been taken down. I wanted to retain the character of the house has much as possible, inside and out to keep the Bulgarian style.
The home was kept in very good reasonable condition and was liveable.
